Lenin in London

The New Factory of the Eccentric Actor staged this revival as a benefit for The Marx Memorial Library on JuneĀ 19th 2015. This was the second staging at the library, and as with our staging in 2011, I both directed and played the role of Lenin.

The play itself is a short piece (less than an hour) by Penelope Dimond, focusing on the domestic life of Lenin during his pre-revolutionary visits to London. Set against the backdrop of a May Day rally at the Alexandra Palace in 1903, we see Lenin in public and private moments, both working and relaxing.
